The Journey That Awaits You

When was the last time you gave yourself permission to pour into you mama?

Imagine having a retreat where every single detail is lovingly curated just for your heart, your mind, your body and your soul –  to rest, relax and replenish.

Motherhood is one of the most sacred and important journeys we can walk as women and yet Western society denies and underserved us and our families. When there is no village to hold, celebrate or honour us, we can struggle and begin to feel isolated and burnt out, losing parts of ourselves in the process.

This 5 day retreat in the beautiful Spice Island of Grenada  is designed to support you to reclaim and heal those parts of you.

To soften the parts that have needed to be hard to survive, to give space to the feelings we haven’t felt safe enough to feel and to tend to the weary hearts that have been carrying the load unsupported for far too long.

What to Expect

Imagine waking up each day to the sound of bird song to do sunrise yoga on a treetop open deck, having space dedicated to deep rest, time to reflect and journal, sacred sharing circles to listen and be heard amongst an intimate group pf like minded mothers. There’s also unscheduled time for you to sleep in the sunshine, lounge by the pool or go out to explore.

As well as daily guided meditations and delicious authentic caribbean meals shared with the group, there will also be curated trips to explore the abundant beauty of Grenada. It’s all here for you, epic waterfalls, pristine beaches, turquoise seas, fertile jungle, rolling hills, vibrant culture and warm hearted people.

Meet Your Hosts

Meet Nehanda

Nehanda is a mother of two, Holistic Wellness Coach for mothers of colour, founder of The Soul Mama Journey and Host of The Soul Mama Podcast. Her mission is to create spaces, resources and communities where black and brown mothers can heal, awaken and thrive through their motherhood journeys from conscious conception onwards.

She is trained in Energy and Spiritual Coaching, Yoga Nidra and Womens Yoga Therapy and weaves these all together to support mothers healing and wholeness. She is of mixed British and Grenadian descent and is excited to bring women on this spiritual homecoming journey with her.

Meet Malaika

Malaika Brooks-Smith-Lowe is a Caribbean mama, Professional Yoga Therapist (1000hr), Doula, Artist and Community Builder based in Grenada. She offers over a decade of experience and was recognized internationally as one of 20 Yoga Teachers of Color to Watch. In 2011 she co-founded Spice Harmony Yoga in Grenada alongside her parents, who are also certified yoga teachers.

Malaika works primarily as a private yoga therapist developing customised programs for individuals and special populations, and as a guide for wellness events and retreats locally and internationally. In the early years of offering prenatal yoga she realised a lack of resources for expecting mothers and their loved ones, thus beginning her doula journey. Through the interconnected facets of her work she seeks to create pathways for her clients and community to feel supported and foster deeper connections with themselves and one another.

“Pouring into ourselves as mothers and honouring ourselves as women is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children and to ourselves.”

Testimonials

I was experiencing deep burn out, internalized shame, and a feeling of powerlessness when I came to the island. The retreat allowed space for participants to connect with each other, find moments of resonance, and harness wellness tools to take home with us. Grenada is a beautiful country that offers a profound history reflected in the food, culture, and people. I highly recommend!
